Watch Your Money Accounts

I've heard three recent horror stories from folks having
their credit or debit card information stolen and used.
I'm sure this will become ever more prevalent over the
holiday period.

Here's a tip that will spare you the horrendous surprise of
finding your entire bank account wiped out, bouncing
payments, etc. Or, having your credit card declined
because someone shot it to the top.

It's really very simple.

First be SURE you have a good anti-virus program, a good
firewall and a good anti-spyware program on your computer.
Then, sign-up to be able to access your bank accounts and
credit cards online.

Then, your first official act when you go to your computer
each day should be to check ALL your accounts. If you see
any activity you don't know about, CALL - don't write -
your bank or credit card company immediately.

If someone has been using your accounts, they'll be stopped
within 24 hours of the time they started. This will save
YOU untold aggravation!

Once you have everything set up, it's just a matter of
making this daily check a HABIT. It only takes a few
minutes (depending on how many accounts you have) and it's
worth every second of time you spend on it.

If you don't believe me, ask any one of those three people
I mentioned above if they wish THEY had done that! I do it
every day without even thinking about it.

It also has another perk. You see your credit card
balances every day. Seeing it tends to slow down that
spending. Or, at least, spend with a bit more thought.

If it's your banking information, you will actually stop it
before the money is paid out. Then, you not only don't
lose your own money, you don't have to deal with all the
service charges that will develop if you don't know your
account has been pirated.

I've done this for years. While my email is being
downloaded every morning, I open my web browser and check
all the accounts. It's become so habitual, I don't even
think about it.

In this day and age, it isn't even a matter of IF this will
happen to you. There are a bazillion ways for scum bags to
get your account information. So, it's just a matter of
WHEN you get to deal with it.

Stay on top of your money. Check your accounts EVERY day!

your blog traffic grows so such your commission checks.

Although you can promote both physical and digital
products, the latter typically pay more commissions and are
easier to sell. Here are a few ways you can make $500 -
$2,000 in sales of affiliate products monthly from your
blog. It all depends on how much effort you invest.

1) Interview the Creator of the Product

Who better to answer questions and clarify concerns about a
product than the owner himself? By arranging for an
interview with the owner or a representative, you get to be
the middle-man and ask the critical questions on behalf of
your blog readers.

You can conduct interviews easily using Skype and a
recording software that integrates with it. Once recorded,
you may need to do some minor editing using Audacity, a
free audio editing software. If you're using Wordpress as
your blog platform, you can easily install podcasting
plugins and get the interview up quickly & easily.

It's a good idea to have tested the product thoroughly
before the interview. While testing the product, questions
that need to be asked will naturally come to mind and you
can jot them down for the interview. Product knowledge is
important as it will enable you to ask the pertinent
questions. The more informative the interview, the more
likely you are to make a sale.

During the interview itself, make sure you mention your
affiliate link. Also write a short description of the
podcast in your blog post and put your affiliate link
there. Ask the owner if he might extend a special offer to
your subscribers.

2) Write a Complete Product Review

This isn't a new idea but for some reason I don't see many
affiliate marketers doing it these days. This is a product
review not a sales letter. You'll turn potential customers
off if your review is too one-sided. Even if the product
really is great, there have to be some limitations you can
point out.

A picture is worth a thousand words so include screenshots
if you're promoting a software product. That should
increase the click through rate. Provide details of
results you've been able to achieive using the "secrets"
taught in an ebook or other information product. It's not
uncommon for people to be interested in a product but want
to see proof it works from someone else before they'll
actually buy it.

3) Pre-Sell the Product

A "How To" article teaches people how to solve a specific
problem or achieve a specific result. In your article,
start with the problem or desired outcome, and give
specific steps and actions to be taken to achieve the
desired result.

Reveal how the product you're selling can assist your
readers towards the end of the article. Can the product
you're promoting automate or eliminate some of the steps in
the blueprint you've provided. Tell the readers what the
product can do. Considering the "now" world we live in
your chances of making a sale increase if you can show the
reader how the product can make their life better in some
way.

Your goal is to pre-sell the benefits of using the product
and lead them to the affiliate product page. Don't make
your article a sales pitch or this method will not work
effectively. People want to buy, but they don't want to be
"sold". Let them make the buying decision themselves.

Due to the control and flexibility it provides, WordPress
is the best blogging platform to use in this type of
business endeavor in my opinion. WordPress works just as
well promoting a few dozen products as it does promoting a
single product. And using these three strategies you can
create a three, four, or even five figure monthly income
quickly.

Stupid is as Stupid Does

I don't know about you, but I am sick to death over these
morons who flood my email "inbox" with all kinds of offers
for things I don't want. I don't care if your brother-law's
late uncle was the prime poohpah in Wospilyland in Nigeria,
and can't legally get his money out of the country. And,
I'm not really interested in giving a sizeable chunk of my
savings so I can get 50 million dollars or so as my share
of his estate.

I really don't want that $500 gift certificate from
Walmart, Sears, or K-Mart, because I know that no matter
how many "hoops" I'm made to jump through, I'm not going to
get it anyway. However, I have just confirmed that I am a
real person, and now my email address is for sale, as well
as my phone number and the address where I live. Read the
fine print. By filling out the form, you have given them
permission to spam you. The same holds true for those free
laptops, free plane tickets or hotel reservations.

I don't have an Ebay account so how can they close down my
account because of suspected fraudulent activity? And if I
did, why should I sign on and give them my personal
information, including my credit card information to verify
my account. Most of us know that this junk comes from
scamsters trying to find someone stupid enough to go to
their "look alike" site and give them this information.

How many people deal with a Bank in Downtown Winnett,
Montana, population 160? Not many I'm sure. But a lot of
people do deal with the Bank of America and PNC Bank. Do
people really believe that the Bank will email them
threatening to close down their account if they don't
supply the information they are requesting?

And how about the IRS (Internal Revenue Service)? Do you
honestly believe they have unclaimed refunds in your third
cousins brother's mother's great-grandmothers name? Are you
dumb enough to give them all the information they request
so you can get it? Are you dumb enough to think the IRS
would email you?

Most types of offers fall into one of two categories. The
first consists people who send out "offers that seem to be
too good to be true." This category is made up of simply
uniformed folks who are sold on the idea that if they send
out their ad to 50 million people or so, some will buy into
their offer. Those who send out the emails for them, say
that if they get just one half of one percent of the people
to buy their product, they will be a millionaire. These
people are simply stupid, and the only ones making money
here are the ones sending out the emails.

The second category consists of out and out thieves. These
people are trying to get your personal information so as to
steal your identity. These guys are sophisticated con
artists and are good at what they do. Do they prey on the
informed? Of course not, and they don't expect them to
bite. Who are they after? People new to the Internet, who
are inexperienced with financial matters. But should we
feel sorry for those that buy into the Wospilyland in
Nigeria or the IRS scam? You figure it out.

Three things normally drive people to these types of deals.
True financial need coupled with inexperience is probably
at the very bottom of the list. Next up on this list would
be stupidity, and at the top would be out and out greed.
Many of the people who fall for these scams are simply
greedy and want to make "Big Bucks," without having to work
for it.

Others are simply too dumb to know the difference and
shouldn't be allowed to own a computer. The majority of
people scammed however possess the first two traits in
differing combinations - greed and stupidity. These people
can't be helped and will be scammed.

If you are inexperienced with the workings of the web, or
had a recent financial reversal, before jumping into an
offer that really looks good, talk it over with others
first. The money you save will be your own.

Are You Frustrated Trying to Make Money Online?

Internet Business "gurus" and their product offerings make
it sound easy. But the truth is that most people who setup
an internet business to make money fail. They never make
more money than they spend.

Over hyped up sales pages, in addition to a lot of the
information that they pump out give the impression that you
can make millions overnight. If you've been building your
business long enough to have a fairly large email list,
thousands or tens of thousands of followers, and savvy
marketing skills, you certainly can. But NOT if you've just
setup your first web site. There are always exceptions, but
they're few and far between. There are no overnight
successes. When you see an overnight success, what you
don't see, are the years of work spent getting to that
point.

So many new Internet business owners become frustrated when
they don't make sales or get very much traffic. They panic
and start jumping from idea to idea, from product to that
product, from this guys advice to that guys advice. They
buy product after product hoping to find the thing that
will increase their sales. In the end, they throw in the
towel and give up, frustrated and disillusioned.

However, the internet does give you the ability to make a
lot of money. You have to be smart and follow those who've
paved the way. If you do, you can create income streams and
not spend all day working.

Here are 20 things that can help you stay on track:

1. Create your Internet Business around a topic you believe
in and are passionate about. 2. Be consistent. 3. Be
honest. 4. Take advice from others, but think for yourself.
5. Follow the steps of a successful person, not people who
post in forums. 6. Google Page Rank is NOT important. 7.
Learn some basic HTML and web skills. 8. Test, Test, Test
your site, copy, ads, etc.. 9. SEO is important but not
more so than quality. 10. Links into your site are
important, more so than SEO. 11. An subscriber list is as
important as SEO and Links. 12. Interaction with your
readers will build links and subscribers. 13. Quality
content is important to getting loyal readers. 14. Selling
quality products is important to getting repeat sales. 15.
Getting repeat customers is important to long term profit.
16. It's easier to keep a customer than get a new one. 17.
Interact with other bloggers and web sites operators. 18.
Your numbers (subscribers, traffic, and links) will grow
exponentially. 19. Leverage others. 20. Don't buy every
product that you see in your inbox.
